What we handle

Admissions & Right to Education

EWS and disadvantaged-group admissions, neighbourhood criteria, reimbursement, and complaints out of the admission process.

What we do

Typical matters

  • EWS and disadvantaged-group admission directions
  • Reimbursement claims for admissions under the RTE Act
  • Neighbourhood criteria and points systems
  • Complaints by parents to the Directorate
  • Admission of students transferred mid-session

Admission season generates directions, complaints and clarifications in volume, and an institution that has followed the published criteria still has to be able to show that it did.

We advise on the criteria before they are published, respond to complaints made during the season, and pursue reimbursement claims where the State has not paid what the Act requires.
